DreamPen ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your
information when you use the DreamPen mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use DreamPen:
Account information — your name and email address when you sign up.
Dream content — the dreams, notes, and entries you log in the app.
Onboarding preferences — age range, gender, dream frequency, goals, and other preferences you provide during setup.
Usage data — how you interact with the app (screens visited, features used).
Device information — device type, operating system, and push notification token.
Purchase information — subscription status and transaction history (processed by Apple and RevenueCat — we do not store payment card details).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Provide and personalise the DreamPen experience.
Generate AI interpretations and insights from your dream content using Claude AI (Anthropic).
Create AI-generated videos from your dream descriptions using Google Veo 3.
Send push notifications (dream reminders, video completion alerts) — you can disable these at any time in your device settings.
Process and manage your subscription via RevenueCat and Apple.
Detect patterns across your dream history.
Improve the app and fix issues.
3. Dream Feed & Anonymous Sharing
DreamPen includes an optional Dream Feed where you can share dreams
anonymously with the community. Sharing is entirely opt-in on a
per-dream basis. Shared dreams are not linked to your name or email
address in the public feed.
4. Third-Party Services
DreamPen uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
Supabase — database and authentication (privacy policy).
Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI dream interpretation (privacy policy). Dream content is sent to Anthropic to generate interpretations.
Google (Veo 3 / Vertex AI) — AI video generation (privacy policy). Dream descriptions are sent to Google to generate videos.
Firebase (Google) — push notifications and analytics (privacy policy).
Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — optional sign-in methods.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. We use industry-standard
encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is
restricted to authorised services only. No system is 100% secure, but we
take reasonable steps to protect your information.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete
your account, your personal information and dream entries will be deleted
within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Opt out of push notifications at any time via your device settings.
Opt out of the anonymous Dream Feed at any time.

8. Children's Privacy
DreamPen is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you
believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact
us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you
of significant changes via the app or email. The "Last updated" date at
the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
